The chorus is a little tricky as it is the part where Mandarin meets Korean, and these parts are sung in different octaves (Jackie with the lower voice; and the opposite for Kim), and also with secondary layers that create a nice and rich harmony. For simplicity, I have arranged this section to be played in 6th / 3rds apart, and gradually increasing the tone by playing them in octaves as well.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind compliments. Btw, I didn't play using any score. It was mainly through hearing (e.g listening to the MTV from YouTube several times, and figuring out the chords and melodies that suited my own playing style). And I starting recording it when I felt that it sounded OK. I'm quite bad at creating scores, but I'll definitely upload the score if I decide to transcribe this music into musical score one day.

ReplyDeletecan you suggest me how to become better at playing keyboard? now i am a beginner level and over 35 years old guy. i can play melody line easily after listening to your music. but how to fill in chords and many notes at the same time? how should I learn properly to become proficient in playing like this if not to your level.. can you suggest me the learning path? should I learn by Chord or Scale alone?
ReplyDeleteHi tinkyawoo, it's good to know that you are learning the piano. I learnt music since I was at a very young age. My playing style kept changing and evolving over the years. I used to play single melody lines when I first started playing. Then I learnt the chords and played simple chords. From simple chords, it evolved into more complicated patterns. For melody, I started adding more notes like sixth note and octaves, just to make it sound richer. However, not everyone will like it. I just like to play whatever I like to hear :) It takes lots of practice, but you will need to start from simple melodies and simple chords at this level, and slowly add in variations (improvisation) as you get more and more comfortable. Hope it helps :)

Oh My God, your version is over excellent. Im very impressived that you can create your own style very well. I reconized that you increase the stone to C or Am for the high notes as you said.
